The History of Piment Rouge Lighting
1998 – Piment Rouge Lighting is established
Piment Rouge Lighting was conceived when Claire Guillot and Ken Prudhomme, with their backgrounds in photography and interior decoration, decided to start designing and manufacturing lamps. They began with a small workshop set up in their home and a single employee, Sam, who is still with the team today.
2001 –Piment Rouge’s dedicated factory and showroom is constructed
Piment Rouge formed a new collaboration with furniture manufacturer Teckococo, and they have maintained a strong partnership to this day. This led to the opening of the first store, which provided a real boost to sales and recognition. A few months later, the need for increased production capacity was addressed with the construction of a dedicated factory and showroom.
2003 – Piment Rouge opens a second store in Seminyak
Following further growth, Piment Rouge opened its first exclusive retail store on Jalan Raya Seminyak – Bali in 2003. This new store provided complete interior decoration solutions, with high quality products and sleek designs.
2008 – Piment Rouge opens a store in Mauritius
Piment Rouge branched out into the overseas market, investing in a 400 sqm shop in Mauritius where there was great local demand. This venture further strengthened the brand’s success as it maintained its focus on quality and design.
2009 – Piment Rouge opens a shop in Ubud
Further expansion brought the opening of a fourth store on Jalan Monkey Forest in Ubud – Bali. Known as the cultural capital of Bali, this location provides strong connections with the values that originally paved the way for Piment Rouge.
2010 – Piment Rouge opens a store on Sunset Road
Another retail store followed just a few months later, this time positioned on the busy bypass, Jalan Sunset Road – Bali. The extensive collection in the 350 sqm store is a culmination of 10 years of passion and devotion to interior lighting and decoration.
2011 – Piment Rouge establishes its Hospitality Department
Responding to the increasing requests from many villas, resorts, restaurants and hotels to provide and supply their lamps, Piment Rouge established its Hospitality Department. Building on over a decade of experience and skill, the opening of this department cemented Piment Rouge’s place as a leader in the custom‐made lighting market in Bali.
